Welcome to Lucky Lap

What Lucky Lap is, the goal, Pippa your host, the first-session tour and a map of every button and counter on the screen.

Sunny Pier: a toy-like theme park on a board of colourful spaces, with a Ferris wheel, carousel, big top, drop tower and roller coaster by the sea
Sunny Pier, the first park you build.

What is Lucky Lap?

Lucky Lap is a dice board game where you build your own theme park. You roll two dice, your token walks round a board of 36 spaces, and the space it lands on pays out: coins, rolls, tickets for the day's event, or a trip on the tram to someone else's park.

You spend your coins on rides. Every park has five rides, and every ride has five levels. Build all 25 levels and the park is finished: you get a reward and your next park opens. There is no way to lose. Your progress is how far you've built.

Along the way you can prank and rob other players' parks, collect stickers, play a new event every day and climb the daily tournament.

Lucky Lap is still being tested. Some features are still being finished, and the numbers on these pages may change before the game launches.

The goal

  1. Roll the dice. Each throw costs a roll, and rolls refill over time. See Rolling the dice.
  2. Collect what the spaces pay. See Board spaces.
  3. Build rides with your coins, level by level. See Building rides.
  4. Finish the park by taking all five rides to level 5, and move on to the next one. See The parks.

Meet Pippa

Pippa, a cheerful mechanic with curly hair, goggles on her head and teal overalls, waving
Pippa, your host.

Pippa keeps the rides running at your park. She shows you round during your first session, and later she steps in now and then to introduce something new: the sticker album, friends, swapping stickers, the daily gift when it's ready, and your next park when you finish one.

Pippa doesn't have a voice. Her lines type out on a card beside her while she talks with her hands, and her mouth moves with the words. Tap the card's button when you've read it.

Your first session: the tour

Your first 50 rolls are a guided tour. Pippa introduces the game one piece at a time, and the dice are set for the tour so that you see every kind of space. In order, she shows you how to:

  1. roll the dice;
  2. build your first ride, the Carousel, and then spend your coins on more levels;
  3. open today's event, collect day 1 of the daily gift and meet Quick Wins;
  4. collect the shop's free gift;
  5. roll on autopilot by holding the roll button;
  6. finish Sunny Pier and use the multiplier for the first time.

The first time you land on each kind of space, she explains it: stall plots, tickets, the jackpot fountain, the fortune teller, snack stands, the tram (pranks and heists), the gate, crew chests, repair fees, park security, the zone wheel and event milestones.

While the tour runs, buttons it hasn't reached yet are greyed out with a small padlock. Tapping one says "Keep rolling: this opens soon." The Album and Friends tabs open once the tour is over, and so does the daily tournament. During the tour your pranks and heists visit made-up parks, and no other player can visit yours.

By the end of the tour you've finished Sunny Pier, you're in your second park, Frosty Peaks, and the multiplier is open.
