Board pieces

The piece you move round the board: the pawns you earn by levelling up, the Bumper Car and the Hot-Air Balloon you earn in play, and the special pieces in the shop. How to change your piece, and who sees it.

Your piece

Your board piece is what hops round the board when you roll. Everyone starts with the Blue Pawn. As you play you earn more, and a few special ones are in the shop.

To change your piece, tap it on the board between rolls. The Pieces screen opens with every piece: tap Use on one you have. Your new piece hops on the spot to say hello.

When you earn a new piece, a card says so at the next quiet moment, with Use it or Later. New pieces are marked NEW on the Pieces screen.

Special pieces

Four pieces are sold in the shop part of the Pieces screen, each bought once and yours to keep:

PiecePriceComes with
Spinning Teacup$4.99The piece
Carousel Horse$4.99The piece
Rocket Car$9.99The piece and 250 rolls
Golden Swan$9.99The piece and 250 rolls

Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows yours in your own currency. Lucky Club members get their bonus rolls on the Rocket Car's and the Golden Swan's rolls too. A piece you buy becomes the one you move straight away.

Bought pieces belong to your Apple account. On a new phone, sign in to your park (see Account and settings), then use Restore Purchases in Settings if a piece is missing. Restoring never pays the rolls a second time.

How they move

Every piece faces the way it's going and hops in its own way:

  • Pawns bounce from space to space.
  • The Bumper Car bounces hard and sparks when it lands.
  • The Hot-Air Balloon floats high between spaces and lands in a puff.
  • The Spinning Teacup whirls on its saucer as it hops and splashes tea when it lands.
  • The Carousel Horse rides up and down its pole and plays a little carousel tune when it lands.
  • The Rocket Car counts down "3, 2, 1" as the dice fly, then leaves a flame trail.
  • The Golden Swan glides low over ripples, with gold sparkles where it settles.

How your piece moves is only for show: it never changes where you land or what you win.

Who sees your piece

Other players see your piece standing on the card when they prank your park or try a heist on it, on their Friends tab if you're friends, and in their news when you've visited them. You see theirs the same way, and the tournament shows each player's piece by their name.
